It'll simply take too long.\par \par Instead, I will be modifying the existing set. I'm expecting quite a few people to be disappointed by this. My advise for them is to wait and see. The item set won't be built from the ground up, but will still have radical differences. Some items are going to go, be changed a great deal or be moved categories. \par \par Now, on to some more details so everyone can get a small impression of what I'll be doing:\par \par First of all I'll be introducing the "Chargeable" item type. Some of you may have used Interphase Gen., and noticed the bar at the top of the screen and its.. behavior. Chargeables will all work similarly. They'll likely be distributed over multiple categories, rather than one category as I had planned in the new item set.\par \par Second, all ships - including the Lancaster, will start off with \b zero \b0 turrets. Yes, that means you won't be able to attach and stay attached to even a Lancaster. However, there'll be a few items that change this and allow Lancasters, Spiders and Leviathans to have turrets. Of course, Lancasters will be allowed more turrets.\par \par On a related note, Point Defense will be changed. Instead of just one (or two, since Polaron) AI turret item(s), there will be a category of them \b that can be used alongside\b0 regular guns and bombs. However, these turrets will only be available to Lancasters, Spiders and Leviathans, and only if these ships have free turret slots (see above). They'll likely also take up two slots, rather than one, as a player would, and therefore a player turret will always be more powerful than a Lancaster with one or two "AI turrets" on it. Oh, and to those already thinking "OMG OP!", keep in mind that every single variable on these things can be changed. The Spider lost 1 point of thrust and approximately 400 speed. The Leviathan has lost a similar amount of speed, but no thrust.
